FAQs

📌 Is Hoop Love Academy for beginners or kids just trying basketball out?

Hoop Love Academy is designed for athletes who already enjoy the game and want to improve.
We support beginner–intermediate athletes (5th grade and up) through structured training, but we are not a recreational program for kids casually exploring basketball.

📌 What’s expected of athletes who train at HLA?

Athletes are expected to bring focus, effort, and coachability to every session.
HLA is built for players who want to be challenged, learn details, and take their development seriously—not just go through the motions.

📌 My child is talented but not very motivated. Will HLA help them fall in love with the game?

Our environment can support growth, but HLA is best suited for athletes with internal drive.
We don’t force passion—we fuel it. If a player isn’t invested in improving, this may not be the right fit.

📌 How do I know which training level is right for my child?

Proper placement is critical—for your child’s growth and for maintaining the training standard.

If you’re unsure, we strongly recommend scheduling a consultation before enrolling, especially for advanced sessions.

Advanced classes are reserved for athletes who demonstrate consistent pace, decision-making, and performance. If a player enrolls in an advanced session but is better suited elsewhere, it can affect the entire group.

To discuss placement, email info@hooploveacademy.com.

📌 When do new athletes start training?

New athletes onboard at the beginning of each month.

You may register at any time, but your athlete’s start date will be the next month’s onboarding. This structure allows us to maintain consistency, progression, and a focused training environment.

📌 What happens if my child misses a class during their monthly plan?

Missed classes are not credited, refunded, or carried over.

Monthly plans reserve your child’s spot in a structured training cycle, regardless of attendance. Consistency is essential for development and for preserving the integrity of our sessions.

📌 Do unused classes roll over to the next month?

No. Classes do not roll over.

Each monthly plan includes a set number of sessions within that month only. This allows us to plan effectively, maintain structure, and uphold training quality.

📌 Can my child attend different class levels within the same plan?

No. Athletes must attend the class level they are enrolled in.

This ensures appropriate challenge, consistent progress, and a productive environment for all athletes.

📌 How do I secure my child’s spot in a class?

You must register through PushPress for each session.
Spots are only secured once registration is completed.

📌 Are class sizes limited?

Yes. Most classes are capped at 12 athletes to ensure quality instruction and individual attention.

📌 What happens if a class is full?

If a class is full, you may join the waitlist.
If a spot becomes available, you will be notified.

📌 What happens if classes are canceled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances?

In the event of weather-related closures or facility issues, we will communicate updates via email and social media as early as possible. Safety always comes first.
